Mental Health Support During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is often depicted as a time of joy and anticipation, but in reality, it can bring a wide range of emotions—some expected and others completely overwhelming. While many people feel excited, it’s also common to experience stress, anxiety, mood swings, or even grief as you adjust to the physical, emotional, and identity changes that come with carrying a child.

During pregnancy, many factors can impact mental health, including hormonal fluctuations, body image concerns, relationship dynamics, previous pregnancy loss, fears around labor and delivery, and uncertainty about the transition to parenthood. It’s okay to feel a mix of emotions, and it’s okay to need support. Our Perinatal Program provides prenatal mental health care to help you navigate this time with greater confidence and clarity.

Therapy during pregnancy can help you manage stress, process past experiences that may resurface, work through fears or anxieties about birth, and build emotional resilience before your baby arrives. If you’re experiencing intrusive thoughts, intense worry, mood changes, or difficulty connecting with your pregnancy, know that you’re not alone. Seeking support now can help set the foundation for a more positive postpartum experience and an easier transition into parenthood.
