Counselling

Each of our clinicians have specific areas of passion and expertise - the clinician who is the best fit will depend on the age of the client and the type of support needed.

We offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as, family support, parenting coaching, and couples counselling.

Counselling services can be provided in-person or online, via a secure video conferencing platform.

All counselling services are provided by a Registered Psychologist or Masters-Level Social Worker, or by a Provisional Psychologist under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. Services are eligible for coverage under health insurance plans and we can direct bill to some providers (including Blue Cross and Green Shield).

Did you know that many insurance plans in Alberta include coverage for psychological services—and that you might not even need to pay out of pocket?

Direct billing means you don’t have to deal with submitting receipts or waiting for reimbursement. We can bill your insurance provider directly, saving you time, money, and effort.

At Lumos Psychological, we believe that access to mental health support should be straightforward, transparent, and stress-free. That’s why we’re committed to helping our clients make the most of their benefits, so they can focus on what truly matters: healing, growth, and wellbeing.

Some of the major insurance companies we can direct bill include:

  • Alberta Blue Cross

  • Canada Life

  • Green Shield

  • Manulife

  • And more…

If you’re not sure whether your provider allows direct billing or how much coverage you have for psychological services, we’re happy to help walk you through it.

In addition to standard benefit plans, we’re also proud to support individuals accessing care through specialized national programs.

  • NIHB (Non-Insured Health Benefits Program): for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients

  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC): for veterans and their families

  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP): for both active and retired members

What we do

There is always light in the midst of the Darkness, even if it’s only a pinpoint in the distance. And when it seems as if there isn’t, it’s just an illusion. Just a lie that the Darkness wants you to believe. Break through the illusion. Remember that you’re growing through it and towards the light. You are always growing towards the light.
