Assessments
Here at Lumos, we offer comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessments (for both children and adults), as well as specific ADHD Assessments for adults. There are some important differences in each of these assessments - understanding the purpose and processes associated with these two services can help you determine which one is the right fit for you.

A Psychoeducational Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that assesses cognitive abilities, academic skills, attention and learning processes, and behavioural/emotional/social functioning. The process typically involves interviews, questionnaires and standardized testing. A range of possible diagnoses can be explored through this type of assessment including ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, giftedness, mood disorders, and other mental health conditions. A comprehensive assessment provides insight into a person’s cognitive and learning profile, including an understanding of their strengths and areas for growth. The goal is to identify specific interventions and/or accommodations to support them. This type of assessment is often required to establish eligibility for certain programs, accommodations, or support services.

The cost of a comprehensive assessment is $2,400
We conduct Psychoeducational Assessments out of our three office locations - Edmonton, Camrose, and Fort Saskatchewan
An Adult Psychological Assessment is designed to provide an understanding of your current psychological functioning. This type of assessment explores a range of potential mental health and neurodevelopmental diagnoses, including—but not limited to—ADHD, PTSD, and anxiety or depressive disorders.
The process involves a thorough clinical interview, a detailed review of your developmental, behavioural, and mental health history, and a series of standardized self-report questionnaires. The primary goal is to clarify any relevant diagnoses, better understand the underlying factors contributing to your current challenges, and provide personalized recommendations for treatment, support strategies, or accommodations.
While this assessment does consider attention and executive functioning (e.g., in the context of ADHD), it does not include formal testing of cognitive or academic abilities (such as IQ or learning profiles). If you are seeking insight into learning challenges or need documentation for academic accommodations, a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment would be more appropriate.
The cost of an Adult Psychological Assessment assessment is $1,200.
Most of the assessment is conducted virtually, but there is an option to complete parts of it in-person at our Edmonton office location if that is preferred.
