First Responders
I have been working in the mental health field for 20 years. I began my career in the non-profit sector, providing social rehabilitation programming and in-home support for children with behavior challenges. I then moved into the world of education, working for many years as a school counselor and school division psychologist before making the shift into private practice. I have experience working with a range of issues including trauma, attachment and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, aggression, self-harm, attention and learning problems, addictions, and grief/loss.

I am a compassionate listener with a big heart for children and adolescents who are struggling. As a mom myself, I also have great empathy for parents who are balancing busy lives with children. In 2017, I was named one of Avenue Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 for my work in the areas of youth mental health and violence prevention.

I am deeply devoted to my work with the clients and team at Lumos Psychological. I genuinely enjoy helping people of all ages explore their own attachment history and heal from difficult experiences. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, and I use EMDR therapy in combination with other evidence-based techniques to treat a variety of presenting concerns. I also have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and enjoy helping couples and family members strengthen their relationships. I am a certified facilitator for the attachment-based Circle of Security and Connect Parent programs. In addition, I am a Level III Reiki Practitioner, and I’m happy to integrate energy healing into counseling sessions upon request.
A Medicine Woman's Prayer
by Sheree Bliss Tilsley
I will not rescue you,
For you are not powerless.
I will not fix you,
For you are not broken.
I will not heal you,
For I see you, in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness,
As you remember your light.
