I completed my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Alberta. Before Lumos, I worked as a teacher in elementary and high school settings, as a school counsellor, and as a mental health therapist for people who experienced sexual violence.

As a counsellor, I am dedicated to ensuring my clients feel wholly accepted and met with unconditional positive regard and support. There is no experience too dark, no story too heavy, and no emotion too big.  I commit to entering each session with the utmost care, providing a calm environment with warmth, encouragement, and humour when appropriate.  While I work alongside clients to gently question and challenge any beliefs that are threatening their authenticity and empowerment, I recognize that they are the experts of their own lives and experiences. 

 

I embrace an integrated approach and use several modalities to ensure that every client's therapeutic experience feels authentic and purposeful. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory, but beyond that I bring my full self to each session to foster genuine connection and provide undivided attentiveness. I endeavour to operate from an anti-oppressive and intersectional lens in all that I do, and recognize the complex ways that systems of oppression contribute to mental health difficulties.
